All About Heat Deflector Racks for Primo Large Oval

Important: Sold in Pairs, Grill needs a pair.

Heat Deflector Racks are required for indirect cooking on your Primo Oval. They hold the ceramic deflector plates just below the cooking grids.

Most Common Uses

• Two Racks + Two Plates: Full indirect setup for smoking and all-day barbecue cooks.
• One Rack + One Plate: Divide the grill into direct and indirect zones for versatile two-zone grilling.

How They Work

The rack hangs down inside the fire bowl, supporting the deflector plate under the cooking grid. Setup is simple: place the rack, add the deflector plate, then set the grid—usually in the raised position for best results.

• Primo Racks: OEM fit for your Primo Oval grill.
• CGS Racks: Fabricated from 1/4″ stainless steel bar, drop 1.5″ into the firebox, provide easier lump access, and can also support a wok. Made in our wire shop.
