Description
This Whisky Barrel Aged selection is a masterclass in post-harvest flavor modulation. TorQué utilizes the porous nature of specialty-grade green coffee to absorb the complex aromatics of retired spirits. This lot begins with a meticulously sourced Colombian single origin, which is introduced to charred oak barrels previously used for aging premium Canadian whisky. Over a period of several weeks, the green beans undergo a transformation. They pull in the spirit’s volatile compounds like vanilla, oak, and toasted spice before they ever reach the roaster.
On the palate, this coffee is exceptionally dense and sophisticated. It is lead by a dominant note of caramelized sugar and rich dark chocolate. The barrel aging process imparts a distinct “boozy” warmth and a buttery smoothness that bridges the gap between a morning cup and an after-dinner liqueur. Despite its intense aromatic profile, it remains completely alcohol-free. It offers a refined sensory experience with a heavy, syrupy body and a lingering finish. It is a highly articulate expression of craftsmanship, perfect for those seeking to expand their sensory vocabulary with a singular, spirit-forward profile.
What our staff is saying
“It could use a little more whisky and it’d be perfect. Very nice coffee, would go great with dessert like tiramisu.” -Yehveniia
“Really forward with the chocolate cherry notes, and then the whisky comes flying in! I’m not usually for boozy coffees but this was super interesting and I could see myself pouring a cup after dinner!” -Bryce
